we’re taking a break from the posse saga; to honor a true warrior, who left us on 12/25/08 - Eartha Kitt. the finale of the posse’ saga will continue tomorrow so stay tuned.

Today we honor a fallen warrior. a true ebony angel - Eartha Kitt.

Sis Eartha left us on christmas day, after a battle with colon cancer. she fought the good fight and lived with every ounce of gusto that she had until the last day.

she leaves to mourn her passing her beloved daughter Kitt Shapiro and her four grandchildren. we her adoring fans of all generations can join together and celebrate the diva that she is..

born on a share croppers acre in south carolina, just after the depression. she was the daughter of a mixed race mother, and the farm owners son. a forbidden relationship that gave the world an enchanting and beautiful star.

Eartha was worked like a slave she says; until her mother died. she was then passed on to other relatives who felt it best to send her to her mothers sister in Harlem.

at eight, little Eartha arrived in Harlem during the so called harlem renaissance. it was during this time that there was alot of emphasis placed on the arts, and talents of African Americans. Eartha arrived at absolutely the correct time for fate to catapult her into the bright lights of stardom.

this clip from youtube is when she came to the Today Show. (I Know the Today Show on Today.com - crazy..) to talk about her fabulous career. she does a piece from her show Mimi Le Duck. it is classic Eartha.  this is so much a keeper.

at the age of 79 this woman was starting a Broadway Musical.  When Lester interviews her, she says’  “why sit down when you can be useful. she said that when she’s working it makes her feel useful and rejuvinated“. We Agree 100%.  she growls in lester’s ear in the start of the interview in classic Eartha style.. it’s soooo soooo sultry,  especially for 7.am; but hey this is Eartha we’re talking about here.

Eartha is the embodiment of sex appeal, at any age.

She’s a big old money Stunner. the word gorgeous must have her pic next to it LOL. we’ve often debated if she had any plastic work done ?  really it doesn’t look like it to us. she was just from killer genes. look at her daughter Kitt (that’s the two of them together in the pic on the feature blog - hot, whew !)
