I’ve had a hard time stepping out of my comfort zone for a while; what could go wrong tended to. But there were a few times when I tried, and it just worked. My best got me in charge of a startup company: when the founder lost his nerve on administration details, I started looking into how incorporation works, what needs to go into a business plan, and how to play to a demographic. And a year later, here I am, with the group still moving and me at the head of it.

In most cases, impossible is a state of mind. We’d do well to remember that.

I’ve always wondered why it is that so many people find those sorts of insults “funny”. Why is it that people think that shock value on its own deserves a laugh track?
